Cut TV Cord, How to Get News

There is this funny looking little box with dials and buttons on it.........it's called a radio! :C




And I am pretty sure there still is a radio in the dash of the RV too.:B

I'm the OP; guess you have a point --- what is the news? When I was a kid out on the farm, mom and dad got about 15 minutes of news 3 or 4 times a week off an old battery radio. They just told what had happened. I think they were well enough informed.

Now days, the so-called news is really still the 15 minutes of news plus 23 hours 45 minutes of editorializing. And sometimes they cut the 15 minutes short so they have more time for editorializing.

I think most of us know how to interpret the news, according to our beliefs; don't really need the editorializing. My last post; thanks all.

If you're little tech savvy and have good broadband, get a KODI box straight off Amazon. Next step would be to Google "kordkutters"

The news of the UPS shooting was covered. I was notified by nbcnews.com. Cable is the worst outlet for news. They have too many hours to cover before a shooting etc. occurs. They provide us with entertainment in between with opinion which is not news.

The OTA local news is the best wherever you are.

If you are asking how to get TV news without satellite/cable - I think others have given some good info.

If you are asking how people survive without the "news", I can tell you.

I am a three year full-timer and I cut the "news" cord about five years ago. I don't want to hear it but occasionally a friend says something about the worlds happenings. That said; I do have Internet connectivity and do I research the things that interest me but none of this is related to any "news" program, association, channel, or network. Some folks get annoyed when they hear this. It's like watching the "news" is going to change something, somehow. I lived that life/belief for many years until it occurred to me that I care too much about our country and related "things" and all the "news" just stressed me. Is my life better now? I think so.

We love the ROKU also. Not only is it good, but did I mention User Friendly. There is nothing to learn...just select and watch.

Look for Provider to get set up. You'll want to put in your zip code and choose either Broadcast or Antenna depending if you are using the App or website. Since you're in an area with a lot of channels you will want to use the Favorites feature to narrow down the list.
