No, actually I would not be surprised. There are examples of large spots beams (and small) all over. However, when you are in WY, you are no longer receiving "local" programming when you are watching Rapid City, SD. That's the whole point of an OTA antenna. You don't just get Network programming but you get local programming which I really enjoy when watching the 5:00 news and weather. I have DNS Networks so I get Network programming everywhere all the time from NY or LA but that's of no value when I want to see the weather in Foley, AL.

thanks, bill. i'll look into it. as for the spot beams you might be surprised. we held the Rspid City SD spot beam frim the SD/WY border all the way east to Rochester MN.

On many trips I average 300-400 miles per day so I would rarely remain within the same spot beam. As to the OTA connection, yes, it uses the RV's OTA TV antenna so you just add a splitter and run the TV coax to the TV and the receiver.

Right, but you are not going to change locals every time you make a stop on a multi-day trip so the OTA tuner is a very handy option to have available.

just curious. what is the advantage of the OTA adapter over simply changing your service address to get the locals?
