can I use a dishnetwork dvr to record ota tv?

we've found in many cases the spot beams cover large areas hundreds of miles wide making it unnecessary to change our service location. otherwise it takes just a few minutes to make the change. how does the OTA tuer interface to the dish? does it use the RV's OTA antenna?
