Excellent Phone and Data Coverage with T Mobile

It is a far cry from 2008 when I last used T Mobile for my communications.
I have been on the road now in the US since May and have been able to make phone calls every day, no matter where I have been camping.

My journey started in Los Angeles, Death Valley, Ely (Hwy 50) The Grand Tetons, Yellowstone etc etc .
The coverage has been excellent, and most days I have high speed data connection.

No I do not work for or represent T Mobile. I am just a tourist from Australia, who likes to ring back home every day and emails, plan routes with Google Maps etc.

T Mobile is great for data in the eastern states but not so great in many areas in the western states. Most of the parks we visited in Utah this spring had signal , but not T Mobile , usually AT&T and/or Verizon.

We had both t mobile and AT&T for nearly 2 months both on identical model iPhones. We had the t mobile and got AT&T to compare and it was MUCH better on our trip east from Houston to Florida and north to North Carolina where we dumped t mobile and went both phones AT&T. Cheaper too

I had T Mobile for a few months with my new Sony Xperia Z Ultra smartphone that only works on T Mobile or AT&T but I had no service most of the time at my home and switched to AT&T. Both were on $30 a month pre-paid plans with no contract but T Mobile had unlimited data and text and only 100 minutes voice vs AT&T that has unlimited voice and text but data is wi-fi only.

Well come and visit me here at Cathead Creek Ranch RV park in Townsend (Darien exit) Georgia.

I can barely get a signal not nearly good enough for voice (Am able to text)

However since the pone does VoIP and Wi-Fi here is good enough to stream video.. NO PROBLEM. A few hundred yards south of the park signal gets strong enough to use... and when I hit the freeway.. Well I took a call from my pharmcist there yesterday no problem.. (hands free mode).

I have TMobile and voice coverage is great but data coverage can be spotty. I generally always have data service but in some places it is only Edge service which is less than 3G. I have not been to Yellowstone so I can't comment on coverage there. But I have had coverage where a friend with ATT didn't.

To get coverage you probably need a T Mobile plan that allows roaming and then you'll be running off the AT&T towers. Without roaming on T Mobile you'll probably not see much coverage in that area.

Forget the T Mobile coverage map, put down your phone and enjoy the scenery and all the magnificent scenery and wildlife you have in YOUR lucky country.

Good man. West Yellowstone and at the Old Faith full, just near the Visitors Center. and Gardiner on the 89 and Cooke City on the 212.

Here is where I have had coverage, well some of the many places.... Escalante.
Rangely CO on hwy 139
Half way along on the Hwy 191 between Flaming Gorge and Rock Springs Wyoming.and this evening I am camped 23 miles from Challis ID with a full strength signal enabling me to do this post.
I also have a Verizon ( YUK ) air card. No signal.:?

T mobile coverage map looks like it only works if your by an interstate.

I wonder if they "hook" you up with another carrier when your out of your country and in the US. We've been a T Mobile customer for many years and not happy when we travel. Also have Verizon for another phone. Verizon is much better IMO. We were at Madison campground in Yellowstone couple weeks ago and couldn't get any signal with T Mobile. To include Mammoth.
