I received a Garmin 35 Dash Cam for Christmas and finally got to use it this past week. It is pretty cool and has great resolution. It also has a Forward Collision Warning System which is pretty cool.
I made the mistake of setting each segment at one minute and will change that to 10, 20 or 30 minutes as I experiment with it.
There are a couple of long arm mounts that are better for our vertical windshields and so I am saving the permanent mount for the DW's new Edge when we finally get it. The mounting socket is on the front of the camera for some reason so a long arm is needed to not block any of the view.
I ran two cameras on the trip home and the difference between the ebay camera and the Garmin are unbelievable. The night time pictures are almost daylight quality and even vehicle colors are good.
I'm going to buy another for the daily driver but I'll save a few bucks and get the reconditioned one.
Now if I can just take the one minutes snippets and link them successively using Win Movie maker or whatever I have now, it'll make it nice.
