If it is set to Direct Mode the transfer is fast. After you take the first snapshot there is a 1 or 2 minute delay before the batch transfer begins so that if you decide to delete photo after taking it. I have laid my smartphone on the table during gatherings and let guest watch it as the photos begin to pop up on it while I walk around the room taking shots.
