How do you stop Mega Browse?

The Mega Browse program as I understand it is an adware intrusion. I've removed from my computer and it continues to reload. How is this stopped?

Be cautious if using ComboFix. It's designed to be an automatic, hands off malware cleaner, and can make unintended changes to one's system. I would advice only using it with instructions for removing a specific exploit, such as from Bleeping Computers.

Case in point, I once used ComboFix that left my system unable to boot into Windows. Luckily, I was able to restore it from the Command Prompt without resorting to a system backup image.

For one thing, I know its a legit download file and source as I've personally tested and used it. I've also tested the file against over 43 online AV scanners. If I didn't, I wouldn't post a direct download link.

I usually link directly to the author's website in France. But user's often have trouble finding the download link due to the admittedly confusing layout of the site.

In any case, the user has to accept the download and can easily decline if one chose to do so. Be it as such, it's obviously not for you.

The resources at Bleeping Computer brought my computer back to health twice. The ComboFix program was needed both times to fix the issues. They recommend using the program only with assistance, but being a bit tech savvy and also knowing I was likely going to have to reformat the hard drive if I didn't try it, I used it on my own. Both times with complete success.

It isn't something you can download and save for the time though. It will want to re-download if the download is more than a few days old.

Anyone can post a msg here and send people to a site that could start a malware like Mega Browse. Probably the OP got that malware by doing just something like that.

It's a portable app, and doesn't need to be installed. First do a Scan, review the results, then do a Clean. You'll also need to reboot.

Follow up with a scan using Malwarebytes Free.
