Took my boys to the dealership today and we looked at all 5th wheel double axle Toy Haulers and now I'm frustrated because the ones we want are out of price range. I'm confused, also, about what we want vs. what is perfectly acceptable.For instance, the one we keep coming back to is the Raptor 332 king bed suite: eBay listing raptor 332I like it because it has a double refrigerator, ample kitchen storage and nice sofa. It also has the party deck and fireplace, which I like. The king bed is a plus though I didn't seek that out. I like the side tables by the bed too.The dealer quoted me 72. We aren't to the point of negotiating yet. With this number, it seems we are too far apart anyway,We'd *like* to stay in the 50s. DH would like to pay down the one ton dually we just bought last night, oh and the dealership has no 2013s... So all 2014.We also liked the Voltage 3200. Quoted 73.So how much do people "over buy"? I think the larger fridge is nice, but I'm not sure how much I want vs, how much would be acceptable. Why don't you just stick within your budget and not do the debt thing? If you're going to be using it just for the odd weekend then it's money just sitting there don't you think?

I don't feel safe cooking in the kitchen because the range is too close to everything and the RV is too unstable. I've been bringing a crock pot and cooking outside. I'd like a bedroom for privacy. DH said all he needs is a garage and storage for his stuff. See, they dazzle you with the expensive product.... Going to look at floor plans now,Beer budget is right. Lol. I'll at least look to see if I can find the nicest that has what we need and is in our budget.

Don't get discouraged. For $50,000 you can buy a pretty nice unit with some negotiating. You might also take a look at one that is a couple of years old and let someone else take the first couple of years depreciation as well as work out some of the bugs.

I'd start by looking at the wholesale rv websites to get an idea of "actaul" pricing. Mid seventies sounds way too high for a Raptor or smaller Voltage. I'm on the other side of the coin and will suggest getting the trailer you are happy with. The payment difference between 50s and 60s is $100 a month. You mention you bought a new dually to haul it so I'm assuming $50+ so a $100K+ combo. Seriously what's another 10% to get the trailer you want.

Don't settle when you are upgrading.

Funny! If you underbuy you will never be happy. Get what you want or need. Getting what you don't want, selling it to get what you do want, will cost more than just getting what you want now.
