IE 11 won't open HTML

Question

I have a 4 month old HP notebook laptop windows 8.1 and IE 11 and it used to open HTML documents ( Cams & photos ) and about 2 weeks ago it stopped opening them. I also use Firefox and it works good to open the HTML documents, any idea what could be wrong?

Try rolling back your PC to 4 weeks ago using the recovery tool.

Check and make sure IE is still the default browser.  open IE and go to Internet Options (press the little gear in the upper right corner to get the options panel).  go to the programs tab and look to see if IE is the default web browser.  If not, Firefox probably has taken over as the default browser.
