(I guess everybody already knows up you can easily put an app-like icon on your desktop for one-click access to this or any other favorite website.)

Gulfcoast, to answer your question on how to do this:

When you have this forum home page (or any page) open on your screen, look at the top line. You'll see little pictures of a book, a cloud - and a square with an arrow arcing out of it toward the right. Press/tap that little square and you'll get a batch of choices. One of them is "Add to home screen." Press that, and a little icon will appear on your ipad's home screen.

I use this a lot for sites I visit often. Easy to remove if you decide you don't want it. (Press any icon on the home screen until it wiggles with an X at the top left. Tap the X

and you'll get an option to delete the icon.)

Edit - oops, Davydd beat me to it again. Anyway, now you also know how to get rid of the icon if you get mad at RV net.

You can then create a new folder to keep all your links in one place, name it what ever you want.

Yeah, I just would update their forum period. Can't open a link in a new tab with out jumping hoops. Can't make a post without it opening a new tab. Completely opposite and a real pain on an iPad.

It's simple to open a link in a new tab, just press, and hold your finger on the link until "open in new tab" pops up.

That's the hoop I was talking about. No other forum requires it.

Lots of forums work the same way as this one.
It's up to the site developer to have the links open in the same window, or in another tab.
Most of the forums I visit, links open in the same window if you just press them, and to open in another tab, you have to hold over the link then select open in a new tab.
Either way, I really don't see it as jumping through hoops.

To be honest- I usually prefer dealing with Web based stuff in a web browser- whether it is this forum, Facebook, Amazon, eBay, etc. I feei (perhaps incorrectly) have more control over look, feel, and what info I provide.

And replying some times causes a double post like this one.
i have very close to twice the post count you do, and all in the last two years are on an ipad. The only times i have had double posts is when im not paying attention, and never once on a simple reply.

Well, I guess you have more practice. I might get it down when my post count hits yours. :W

In your iPad Safari browser app go to the web page you want then tap on the icon that looks like a box with the arrow pointing up. That will bring up a menu of many icon choices. Tap "Add to Home Screen". That will put the web page you are in on your home screen as an icon that will take you right back to the page - RV.net in your case if you want an "app" for RV.net.

Nice to know also, I am new to all this "Apple" stuff. I got an iPad air for a gift and am slowly learning its foibles.

Or perhaps everone should PM their post to you for your aproval before the final post. Then it might be your perfect little world we could all live in.
