Maps changes after downloading new upgrade to IPhone 6?

Question

We did the software update to our I phone 6...and now find that our previous ability to map routes between two future destinations, along with route options, has disappeared!  Are we missing something?  The new update managed to take away one of our most used features!   Thanks!

I can have the app map the route between any two points in need. iPhone 8 Plus or IPad Pro running latest IOS version. I just planned a trip from home to Alabama to Mississippi to Alabama to Florida to Georgia to home. No problems.
