Millenicom install...how hard?

A lot of Millenicom posts suggest to me that it is an excellent product. On a scale of 1-5 (5 hardest), how hard is the install?

THANKS!
  • Ifeather: no you cannot. you must buy a new one from Millenicom which will cost about $100.
There was/is an exception to that, which I believe is using the sprint system, which wouldn't apply to you.
  • We're using Verizon MIFI until our contract expires in March 2014. I'm assuming I can use our existing MIFI unit with Millenicom?

So simple even a caveman could do it.
  • With the HotSpot you don't have to do anything except make the WiFi connection from computer or tablet. It comes all setup from Millenicom, so it is about as simple as it can get.
  • I use the AT&T version and they are great. It is the only internet connection I have at home or traveling.

Verizon setup my MIFI box when I got it... Then all I had to do was install the Verizon Access Program on each device I wanted to use to access the MIFI unit. Since MILLENICOM uses the same Verizon MIFI unit it should be the same...

Once you add the Verizon Access Program to the device you want to use with the MIFI unit then all of the on-line access is then secured with pass-word etc...

The MIFI unit has a built-in router. My VERIZON MIFI unit will allow five WIFI enabled devices to connect at one time. The MILLENICOM Verizon MIFI unit will allows ten WIFI devices to be used at same time I think.

I use a WILSON SLEEK Cradle in my RV setup as my normal docking station which has an external antenna. This give my MIFI unit a better signal to work with an gives me a larger WIFI HOT SPOT footprint around my RV Trailer. Although my MIFI unit has a four hour internal battery I can use a 120VAC wall xfmr near my WILSON SLEEK docking station to keep the MIFI internal battery charged. I have my WILSON SLEEK Cradle installed behind my wrap around curtain valance in my POPUP that keeps it out-of-sight

Real handy to just grab the small size MIFI unit and slip into your shirt pocket and run down to the water front or go with you on your walks allowing all of your tablets an other WIFI devices etc to function.

Being on the VERIZON NETWORK the MIFI units works rather well just about anywhere you go in the USA.

Best deal I made getting one a few years back. I replace my laptop VERIZON AIR Card with one of these stand alone units so that all of our WIFI enable devices would work anywhere we pick up a Verizon cell phone signal... My DELL M90 an the wifes HP Laptop works great at same time and all of our tablets etc do their thing as well...

I never have to worry now about connecting to the internet on the road or at the camp grounds anymore...

  • I would rate it a 1.5 - install Verizon Access Manager program on your computer - plug in usb modem into your computer - open Verizon Access Manager program - hit the activate button - hit the connect button - you are ready to go.

If using a router, follow the same as above before installing the modem into the router. After installing the modem into the router, use Verizon Access Manager and highlight your router in hit the connect button and you are good to go.
