Millenicom replacement

Hi Guys,

A few years ago I found some info on Millenicom on this forum and another forum. Millenicom offered a pretty good data plan with Verizon at a great deal. Over time they went up in price and finally Verizon cut them off and offered deals to their customers at a hefty price. This was good for me as a storm chaser but was still expensive.

Well last year Huntsville City Schools in Huntsville, AL started a big digital transition. They have got rid of textbooks and replaced them with laptops. All kids have a laptop now and they encountered another problem. Kids with no internet at home. So they partnered with Verizon and started a great deal where parents get a Verizon MiFi router at a good price.

Well earlier in August they opened their program to the general public. There is no geographic restriction for use or purchase. The MiFi router is included and the best news is it is UNLIMITED 4g LTE data over Verizon for only $47.75 a month.

I've used it all over the US including Chicago and Nashville within the last few weeks and I have had no issues with it at home.

If you are interested head to http://hsvwifi.com

Thanks again for all the great info in the past - hope you guys enjoy this service.

Wes

sure they will, if you use more and traffic is high, they will just throttle your speed, which slows down your video streaming

i still have a grandfathered unlimited data plan for my phone
i just bought a new phone samsung S4 retail from amazon

because galaxy nexus died

activated last week, getting great speed most of the time,
but it throttles down during high traffic hours, but heck i used 60gig last month
several weeks of triple digit heat, had me sitting inside streaming and downloading movies, including all ten episodes of Narcos from netflix
on amazon you can rent or buy and download to your mobile device , tablet, phone , PC etc,, havent tried the NEW free download yet
I can explain it to you.
But I Can Not understand it for you !

Good point. I suppose that after 13 months of continuous payments, and the unit belongs to you, maybe you could! I wonder what would happen if you offered to provide your own MiFi or Air Card?
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.

i think it should be mentioned
as far as i can tell from the website, that not buying service for a month is the same as canceling

this IS NOT, turn on service when you want it, then turn it off, it is a monthly commitment, you can cancel any time, no contract, but it IS CONTINUOUS SERVICE,
NO putting it on hold !

just want to avoid confusion of "I thought I could xxx"

as far as the "X-UHID" concern and targeted ads
i would much rather see an adv for RV stuff or electronics, etc.. than pampers, Porn, or other things

besides I run adblock anyway
and google, amazon and frys, already know all about me
from what i look at and buy

When it opens back up again, for those who were asking about long term commitments and the like, this is a month to month deal. They retain ownership of the unit for 13 months so if you cancel the service before that you simply must return the free unit they shipped you. After 13 months you own the MiFi device.
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.

We will reopen the ordering portion of our website once our inventory has been replenished.
We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding

By the way - we followed up with OmniLynx and posted this article on RVMobileInternet.com earlier today:

Make sure you understand the risks of this plan and how quickly it could go away, especially after getting so much exposure in the RVing community.

Very much agreed. However, with no equipment fee or setup charge I believe the exposure is minimal to someone who purchases it.

I went to the website and I don't see anything that specifically says it's Verizon coverage. I see references to the "nationโ€™s largest 4G LTE network," but they all claim that in one way or another. Has anyone actually confirmed that it is Verizon coverage? Thanks.

I just upgraded my current plan to 20gb due to running low on data gas with a week to go to month end. Now I can set this up as a backup if they do pull the plug.

you do realize, there is nothing in the websites or info about, pay as you go, you can put in the closet, but you still gotta pay for it every month

you can log in and pay monthly, or you can set up auto subscription payment

but if you an't paying you gotta send it back

Something else to consider? Realistically, Verizon is not going to allow unlimited 4G LTE mobile data usage on their network. No mobile provider will. So the question comes down to how much 4G LTE data will one actually get per month? Those who do opt for this plan, keep track and let us know?
