online ordering is out of control

I ordered several items from camping world several weeks ago. I called today and they didn't even ship. Camping World put me in a very difficult situation right before our big trip. This company should be helping, not making things more difficult. I will not be ordering from Camping World again...very unprofessional ....they blame it on a system upgrade so they are behind on orders
  • I placed an order for a few items a couple of weeks ago. All I got was an email a few days later that one item was on backorder. Sent an email requesting cancellation of the full order. Asked for a confirmation. Never received it.
Never again will I order from Camping World. They could learn from Amazon.

There was a time when online ordering worked fine. I used it a lot at that time.

Since Amazon, that is my go to place for almost everything RV, with an occasional rare Wally World visit.

This organization is positioned to be the RV'rs elite premier resource network for everything RV due to their nationwide facilities.

Instead they continue to suffer self-inflicted wounds through every means possible. It's like, look at me Self-destructing.

They have made superficial attempts to stop the flow temporarily, but until they take drastic measures and operate on their systemic failure; self-destruction will continue.

I would like to be able to say, I drove 80 miles for CW to fix a problem. However, I just drove 80 miles in the opposite direction to have a single owner company fix the problem. They have a great reputation, and came highly recommended. They lived up to it with quality workmanship and customer service.

    What a waste of potential.

All that, they will most likely be around for a long time. Folks just don't do enough research prior to doing business. Then they come to their forum and whine about the problem. When it's been fairly evident for awhile how bad some locations and online issues fester. A little research would have prevented a lot of stress and aggravation. There are CW locations that appear to be customer oriented and competent. When traveling I don't have the time or desire to attempt to find them. Then if a followup issue occurs down the road can they be trusted to honor the work at the previous location. I thinks not, generally speaking. End of Lecture. LOL.

I wish they were gooooooooooooood. I would like them to be greattttttttt!

    Oh well, maybe, next lifetime.

    To Whom It May Concern:

I’m writing about a recent ordered I place with your company several weeks ago (ref number 1517931) on June 7th. I have not heard a word from your company since the initial order so I decided to call to inquire about the order status. As such, when calling on June 20th I was very disappointed to learn the majority of the items did not ship. I was informed the issue was the result of your new system in place and orders were being delayed. It should be noted this was not disclosed to me at the time of my order. It should be further noted, my order has items that were going to be used to prepare our RV for a long trip with our children. I’m very disappointed with the lack of communication and concern for your customers. This has now put stress and strain on our family vacation that wasn’t necessary as a result of Camping World and their lack of communication and customer service. I would expect higher standards from any profit driven company, especially one in the “busy” season of camping.

In conclusion, my disappointment will now force me to purchase my camping items on Amazon that will result in faster and better customer service. I would also suggest to my fellow campers to do the same. The lack of communication and customer service is not acceptable, regardless of the excuses. I’m now faced with the stress due to your lack of accountability in performing your role as a business.

This pretty much sums it up for my feelings as well. When I first started buying from Camping World online I thought their process was a little archaic, but after a couple of years, their process has become unbearable. I might browse their online store, but that's only to make it easier for me to find what I need so I can buy it someplace else like Amazon for a better price, customer service and shipping.

Camping World is on a downward spiral. I bailed out before they crash.

This pledge has my vote. Never again.
  • Most people have been using Amazon now with all of the trouble with CW it is just not worth it anymore. The stores have nothing in stock and online orders take a month to ship. If they keep this up it won't be long until stores and website close. They have no idea what customer service is. A rep will come on and have you PM them your information and they will try to do something but what about everyone else? Everyone's order should matter not just the ones who come on this forum and ask questions.
