ITYM "AUDACITY." For convenient and portable recording/digitizing, with line-in or internal or external mics, a $100 Tascam DR-22WL will do a fine job.
Yup and I have some of those too but he was asking about Recorders and AUDICITY is still about the best for MIC or LINE input recording.. Unless you want to spend money. - wa8yxmExplorer IIIYup and I have some of those too but he was asking about Recorders and AUDICITY is still about the best for MIC or LINE input recording.. NERO is good for copying already recorded stuff But I do not think it has a recorder in it.
Windows has a limited recorder.. Audicity is better.
How I used it last week.
I had a playlist I need to be able to access OFFLINE.. I accessed it with mY Chrome book, Used a patch cable from CB's Headset port to the in on a audio card (USB type I have that works with my Windows box, This external device WILL record in stereo.. Then selected the USB input with Audicity and let it play out.
Then the next day I sliced the big file into lik3 40 wav files which are now resident on my phone's hard card so I can play 'em into the RV's audio system even when I have not internet.
All temp use. they go away April 1

Also check out MP3DirectCut. Another free program. - haydoracinExplorerI use NERO software with Win7. I think there is a free version. Mine was included with my Acer computer. Just finished copying a Elvis Inspirational CD. Pretty simple. Stored on hard drive as MP3. Then copy to thumb drive or SD card or phone.
