Streaming Video

To keep in simple, Amazon PRIME offers SOME videos that can be downloaded (not streamed) and saved on your PC to watch later.

Netflix also offers that for SOME of their choices, but not too many.

"Streaming" means watching something as it's actively coming down to your computer. It doesn't save.

"Downloading" allows you to save it and watch later.

At one time I could save You TUbe videos but they stopped that for the most part.

THere are still SOME you can download for later playback but Streaming means **************. bad connection. over limit on your data plan. Sorry but BUFFERING will be the most common display. Good connection not over limit it work great.

But Streaming is kind of like LIVE TV. v/s recorded.

That said there IS a way (usually) to save it. but .. If you have to ask It's beyond me to explain it..

I do more Audio than video and I am able to save most anything. Sometimes with "Generation Loss" sometimes bit perfect. Depending on how much Effort I put into it and how much I spend on softare and hardware.. I used to produce recordings of/for my daughter and thus had to be able to break copy guard since the best recorder I had copy guarded everything.

You can still download YouTube videos. I do it all the time.

To download Prime Video titles:

Make sure your device is connected to a Wi-Fi network.
Find the Prime title you want to download and open the video details.
Tap the Download option.(Note: For TV shows, select the episode you want to download, and then look for the Download("down arrow") icon).
Once the download is complete, a "Downloaded" or "check mark" icon displays in the video details.

You can typically download on a protected device, such as phone or tablet.

Download to laptop or desktop is typically not allowed.

Also if you are using your cell phone data, it depends on your plan....
- We have unlimited if we watch the video on the phone.
- If we use the laptop, we have 15GB before they slow down the video.

There is a work around. You can "cast" the phone to a TV or projector (sometimes they call it by a different name)...essentially it duplicates the phone screen with the phone still doing all the processing.

If you are planning to use campground wifi...most times it will be so slow, you will give up.

You are asking for a simple answer. My response is not for you, but for others who may be looking for a way to store shows for later, that requires more expertise. HDHomeRun sells TV tuners that bring local shows to your computer where you can record and de-commercial them. They are now offering a cable service as well. You can record and de-commercial them too. They can be stored on your PC, or a NAS, or even a thumb drive. And you can play them later with HDHomrRun or PLEX or any of the other media player type programs available. You can play them on almost any smart media device.

consider 'streaming', as the same thing as watching cable
you need a live internet connection

you can download some amazon prime video to your android tablet or iPad ?

connect the tablet to your TV with an MHL/HDMI cable

the tablet is the player (likes a dvd/vcr) the TV the full size display

downloads usually have a limited viewble time period

they play in the 'amazon app' on your tablet

the file might be good for (2) weeks ?, but once you start to watch it you have 24/48hours to finish watching it

they won't stay on your tablet forever

yes you can 'download ' the movie again if you want to
