Oh boy is that true... even without darkness or rain, both my Nuvi and Google Navigator (android) led me down a road that quickly turned into an un-maintained forest service two track.

These things are at the mercy of sometimes small / unskilled data source providers. In my case, the road was in the county plat book, but the county never actually developed it into a proper road, nor did they bother to clarify it was unimproved when they sold the data to Google and Garmin.

Major highways rarely change in my experience. But roads do change like becoming one way or a pedestrian mall.

New housing area is another possibility and the Delorme posts seem to suggest that those roads were maybe 10 years old and not on the maps.

One year I was headed up CA 99 and my old map Garmin 750 said I was off route at a newer intersection where 99 had been shifted some.

If you ever go up I17 from Phoenix you reach a point where S&T 2013 takes you off of I17. I posted that problem and the conclusion was a S&T bug. Try routing from Phoenix to Flagstaff.

Well, they don't make it easy to find, that's for sure. Glad I was able to help.

I use the online maps whenever, but I really like having the data files loaded on my machine, or whatever. Online maps are the best IF you have internet or wireless access. Without, they are worthless. I just visited their website and it doesn't actually say that the maps are updated. It just says that it's new for 2015, which it could be referring to new businesses listed, or updated telephone numbers. Not fraud per se, but could definitely be called deceptive advertising.

Where are folks traveling that there's all this trouble with new roads? I'm rather new when it comes to trailering, with a paltry 20,000 miles under my belt, or should I say wheels? Interesting. That would imply that they brought out the 2015 version in an attempt to imply that the new version is somehow updated from the previous version. Would that be fraud???
