windows 10 update

Same with me. Microsoft forced me to upgrade. I'm done with Microsoft period. No more. After "upgrade" grade forced on me...all my favorites gone, volume control gone.

Bought a MAC earlier in the week.

If only Microsoft made trailer tires:)

I don't think I'd want a tire that requires patching every month.

If everyone would install the updates, forced updates and restarts wouldn't be necessary. Personally I got tired of the seemingly constant Windows updates . Apple computers have their vulnerabilities as well but the updates are much less frequent. They are more expensive but I have found my iMac, iPhone and iPad to be much more reliable. Since family members still have Windows computers, I'm not out of that world yet. :(
No matter what you use, be sure to have a good backup system in place.

I agree that Windows can be a PITA but wait until you go to use your favorite programs from your PC or do things like networking. That is when Mac becomes an even bigger PITA.

THere is a setting, I think it is under POWER but I'm on the wrong computer just now.. IN fact there are I think six or 7 settings

Battery
Plugged in
Screen time out (And require password)
Hard drive time out
Computer time out

I purchased a laptop with Windows 10 64 bit. It worked OK when I first got it. On the first major update from Microsoft, many of the apps that came on the laptop quit working. If you click on the icon to start the app, the icon flashes on the screen and does nothing more. Has anyone else had or has this problem? Any ideas on how to fix it?
