New to the forums, and new to the subject matter, hoping to get some informative input on the subject since we are at a loss at the moment. Bought a new CarryOut GM-1518 to take on our rv trips as a back up to the HD satellite that we have installed on our 5th wheel roof. We have DirecTV HD service, and we know that we will not get HD on the GM-1518 from DirecTV, but we are now concerned whether the GM-1518 will work at all with our two HD DVR's that we travel with. One is old HR20-700, the other is HR24-200. Does anyone know if the GM-1518 will work with either/both of these HD boxes in Standard Definition? We have not yet opened the CarryOut box as they told us we could not return if we opened it and tried it out with the HD boxes and it did not work, so we are trying to determine if it will indeed work with our current equipment. Appreciate any insight you have on the subject..thanks!
Yes, the Carryout will work with both of those receivers. It would work best connected to either one but not both but it can be made to work with both but you will require more hardware (you know,,,,more $$$)!
This is not a Carryout issue, it's a dome issue so you will run into the same block with anything other than one of the open face antennas whether it be a ground mount you point or a roof mounted automatic.
The domes only have 2 outputs that's enough for 1 DVR or 2 DVR's using only one tuner or 2 single tuner receivers. If you want to use a dual tuner DVR you would have to run 2 wires directly to the back of that DVR from the Carryout and it will work just fine.
To do anything else, I would recommend that you install the SWM8 hardware between the Carryout and your receivers. With this setup you only have to run one coax to each DVR and that one coax would power both tuners.
You can find out more information about how to setup the SWM8 hardware here:

This may generate more questions than answers and if so, just post again. Lots of help should be available.
