Yahoo e-mail format change...!

Uhg! Yahoo in their infinite wisdom felt the need to "upgrade" the mail format. It is absolutely horrible!! I had no choice in this... they just did it on their own.

I guess I will have to get used to it... not more mail tabs at the top which was very convenient. Just venting... beware that it is coming down the pike for any yahoo users here.

Found some a solution:

click the GEAR (top right) and select "Settings".
Select "Viewing Emails". There, first turn OFF the "conversations" and click SAVE.
See if that helps. For many, it does.

If not, return there, scroll to the bottom and click BASIC and SAVE.

thanks! This was pissing me off all day today.

I'm OK with that. I have absolutely nothing to hide. Bring it on and let's see who looks really, really stupid when it's done.
The NSA is going to look as stupid as the undercover cop from NY (NJ?) that helped instigate the biker riot!
I talk******most anywhere and everywhere. However, none of what I say (or even think) would reach the level that any agency anywhere would consider anything other than completely boring! I like girls. I like RV's. I like playing poker. I like posting to stupid topics like this one. I like making stupid statements like the one just prior to this one.
What 'ya gonna do? Lock me up? Follow me? Check my perfectly good credit? See if I have any radical affiliations? Go for it folks, I am so clean I even bore myself!
What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

If they want to see the latest pictures I uploaded of our cats on Facebook, they are welcome to it. Maybe they will nominate me for a photography Pulitzer!
Or maybe they'll need a scapegoat at some point? ๐Ÿ™‚ Ya never know. You could be lookin' pretty good for that job. ๐Ÿ™‚

If you put the tinfoil hat on, and line the keyboard with tinfoil, the NSA can't see what you're typing. ๐Ÿ™‚

What makes you think the other major email providers are not? They all cooperate as they're basically required to do so.

d3500ram above has a solution that worked for me. I had to use the "basic" setting.

Thanks for the tip.

The new Yahoo mail looks an *awful lot* like Gmail, but I guess that's no surprise since their CEO was employee #20 at Google.

Too bad he also didn't increase the security of the free Yahoo Mail to at least GMail standards. A little research will likely indicate Yahoo Mail the most compromised email of the major free email providers.
It's she (Marrisa Mayer), but you're right, Yahoo has lagged behind others for years when it comes to security. They're one of the last holdouts for implementing HTTPS by default.

Just because you've chosen Yahoo mail (or Gmail for that matter) for your email provider doesn't mean you have to use their web page to access your mail. Why not access your mail using a third party email client like Thunderbird or Windows Live Mail?
As far as I know free Yahoo email doesn't provide POP access, you have to pay for it.

Mozilla Thunderbird users have been able to receive Free Yahoo Mail using a POP extension for years. I did for a long time. Just got tired of Yahoo Mail security lapses which never seem to get addressed.

Well that should be a show stopper for many of us then. Must be why I use Gmail.

That is true... last I inquired IIRC it was $20 per year... (I think now it is $50 but am not positive.)
