You are most likely going to get mixed opinions here, as well. I would consult your owners manual or contact the manufacturer. My opinion, which should not be worth dirt to you, is to go ahead and run it on propane while traveling. I don't do that, though. My fridge stays cold and my freezer stays frozen from one campsite to the next without running it on anything. It is well insulated.
