Normally new RVs come with one year of Coach net for free paid for by manufacturer. Most deales don't convey that info. Did you get that plus a 30% discount on the rest of the period? If so I would have jumped on that deal.

This was on a used RV, not new!

Sorry for the 2nd post but have a question now...

Say my class C breaks down away from home. Assume it's a motor problem, the vehicle is immobilized, needs to be towed to a Ford dealer, & can't be repaired right away. Also that I don't have a toad.

Does Coachnet or Good Sam help get me to a rental car? I know I would have to pay for the rental car. Just trying to figure out how I'd physically get to a rental car (assuming here that Enterprise can't "pick me up" at the dealer).

Hypothetical but trying to figure out.

they provide trip interruption : hotel, rental car, air fare back to home etc. Depends on the circumstances but yes.

I thought that was just in case of collision instead of a motor problem.
One other thing, I don't believe that either Coach-Net or Good Sam will tow you if involved in a collision or accident. That would be on your motorhome's insurance, provided you pay for that coverage. And they also will not cover you if you are off the beaten path, like on a beach or on a un-marked road.

Both Coach Net & GS ERS are calling the same tow truck companies. If the tow service is closed on a Sunday or holiday doesn't matter which service you have.
How could that be? They use different call centers. And different agents to contract the tow companies. Many could be the same, but Coach Net will weed out the bad apples.

Have not had to use it thru Coach-Net but many (most?) new car dealers either have onsite car rental or can arrange it for you. They do that for customers in some cases for warranty repairs that include a rent car if your vehicle must be kept for any length of time. Had my '07 truck in for two days to replace a cam sensor 4 yrs ago and the Ford dealer provided a rent car for that time, included under the warranty repair.

My first year of free Coachnet it up in 8 days.

Not feeling the love from Coachnet at all though.

Had a motor mishap (class C) earlier this month. Called Coachnet. They never picked up after 15 minutes. I called Ford from a 2nd phone. They picked up immediately. I know Ford sub-contracts through Coachnet. But, apparently, that number has a much higher priority.

Thinking about renewing with Coachnet regardless. But the plans in my renewal letter, on their website renewal section, & on their website general info area don't match at all. E-mailed them over a week ago & still waiting for a response.

Coachnet is making it very easy for me to choose Good Sam even though I believe Coachnet has a better product (based upon what I read on the net).

I have to disagree. they may share some companies in the same area but not always.

The difference (I have told this story before) is that Coachnet will go out of their network if they need to. Case in point, toad broke down in downtown Pittsburg (yes coachnet covers all your vehicles as well as MH, dolly, trailer etc) . Called Coachnet, they ensured I was in a safe location etc, they called back after 10 minutes advising a tow driver on the way. Called again to make sure we were safe with an ETA, and then again a few minutes later to make sure they got there and we were taken care of. This driver was not in their network. Once they could not reach a driver in their network (holiday weekend) they just started going through the phone book until they found someone available and paid the driver up front. Essentially regardless it was one in their network or not, they went the extra mile and got me someone. Good Sam will NOT do that. So the driver gets there, nicest fella, and takes us back to our CG. An hour away and what would have been $300 cost me nothing. We talked, he said he avoids GS calls because they donโ€™t pay them til 30-60 days later and then itโ€™s at a negotiated rate. Said sometimes GS calls are not worth the hassle to get paid less and late and often with a lot of paperwork etc. He said Coachnet paid him in full up front with no negotiations. He said heโ€™s in their network now. Told me COachnet was the best RSA out there. Thatโ€™s good enough for me. Who do you want working for you?

Coach Net. No question. More coverage hours - weekends holidays, and they will go out of network if they have to. GS won't. Don't ask me how I know. Was told by a tow driver Coachnet is hands down the best RSA.
The owner operator of the tow company(big rig specialist) in Idaho also told us he will NOT accept any GS calls, as they are part of the Allstate Road service with low pay and have a very poor track record for paying in a timely fashion.

Don't have any experience with Coach Net, but I have used Good Sam three times in the last year and have been very happy with them.

The last time I needed them was for a tire blowout on the I15 south of SLC on Sunday of Memorial Weekend. They had a tire service guy out there with a new tire the same brand I had and had me back on the road within four hours. I was a happy camper.
