I saw one recently much on this same size but had the raised crank-up roof like some of the Palomino truck campers have shown here. Might have been a home-made model.

I made a statement of fact,no more or no less. Did not intend to split hairs, although that seems to be your assumption.
The ball hitch is not what most people think of when fifth wheel hitches are discussed today.

I have seen this video more than a few times and this morning, I realized that it is not a standard 5th wheel attachment.
If you watch you will see the trailer attaches to the roof of the VW with a standard, ball and tongue design, as is used on travel trailers!
No fifth wheel involved.
