New to this, Questions! 2007 Keystone Cougar 276rls

Must've had air in the line or there is a sensor or something that tells it when city water is hooked up. Pump was running very quiet but continuous, shut off city water and opened faucet and it primed up and took off! Not sure if having them both active is going to work, maybe it will now that it's primed but it wouldn't prime apparently when the city water was turned on also for some reason.

Ok, thanks a million! Yes they all have low pressure also, like 36 people on it, guy says its only set to about 50 pounds pressure. It comes and goes depending on who else is using it, sometimes its great but other times there is nothing there. I wasnt sure if the pump would work with the city line or not, are all brands of campers set up this way? Someone told me to fill my tank and turn on the pump and leave the city connected that way if the pressure dropped the tank and pump would make up the difference, I wasnt sure if that was accurate info though. Anyway I filled my tank and turned on the pump and went to take a shower, pressure was******for 2 minutes then came on good the rest of the time, couldnt hear pump due to shower so I didnt know if it took a minute to prime up or if the city connection just got better. Wasnt sure if there was a valve somewhere I had to flip to connect it. Ive heard some people talk about bypasses and such but I cannot find anything on my camper unless its underneath. Figured I shouldve had pressure instantly because when I first turned on the pump it ran for a few seconds and shut off so I was just wondering and confused about why I had low pressure for the first minute or two. Its helpful to know how things work when trying to solve a problem and Im clueless about campers, learning as I go, lol! Thanks for the info!

Also I got a Tornado and was thinking of installing it, looks harder than I thought. I thought it would just connect in line right after the tank but it looks like I gotta drill a hole in the side of the tank or something. Basic RV water system....'city water' & on-board pump supply the same hot/cold plumbing system.

When hooked up to 'city water' no need to use on-board pump/fresh water tank and vice versa.......use pump no need for city water.

Pump is an 'on demand' pump.....when turned ON should only run when a demand for water occurs (opening a faucet). Then when done using water pump will shut off when pressure reaches stop set point (45-55#)

If pump turned ON and connected to city water source, pump will run IF city water pressure is lower than pump start set point (30-40#)


Other campers having LOW pressure issues also???
LOW city water pressure could be campground problem (lack of system pressure etc.) OR could be clogged inlet strainer.
Remove hose from city water connection.......check gasket/strainer for debris....clean if needed.
If strainer is clean..low pressure could be caused by faulty inlet check valve (part of city water connection). Replace inlet assembly.

Waste holding tanks.......
Your 5th wheel should have one (1) black tank (toilet) and one (1) grey tank (shower/sinks).
Both dump valves should drain thru a common dump line.
One dump valve for each tank.

Get a clear 45* or 90* sewer adapter......goes on end of dump line then sewer hose connects to it.
Open a valve and you will know which tank it is coming from. Then label which valve is for which tank....black or grey.

When camping.........let black tank get as full as possible before dumping (add water via toilet or flush system if needed). High volume/weight of liquids carries the solids out better.
Never leave black tank drain valve open........leave closed until time to dump.

After dumping black tank. Rinse and flush then close valve.
Then dump grey tank......soapy water helps flush/rinse drain line/sewer hose.

After dumping completed...add a few gallons of water back into black tank.
Keeps black tank bottom wet (stuff won't stick) and tank is ready to use again.
