RV Inspection

We are getting ready to buy a used Sunnybrook 5th wheel... We found it at a local RV consignment lot... This will be our very first RV purchase... Is the consignment lot responsible for doing the inspection or do we need to hire an outside source? Thanks in advance....
  • I am a Certified RV Inspector. You can get the basic check list I use from http://rv-inspection-service.com/book-store. The checklists are free.

If you want to have someone do the inspection for you go to www.nrvia.org
  • Hire your own inspection and he represents your best interest.

  • Get an independent mechanic, one that is going to tell you the real problems if any and not the dealer embellished marketing BS.

  • In our search for our last RV I had the house and chassis inspected by a reliable RV repair place after I inspected it myself. It was $250 well spent. One could go broke having prospective RVs inspected that have major issues. It is good to weed out obvious non starters yourself before you get the peace of mind inspection.
  • If you were buying a house, would you have the house seller hire the house inspector or would you hire your own house inspector? Having said that, RV inspectors are usually harder to find than house inspectors.

  • If you want a honest opinion hire a independent to look at it.Asa side note a Sunnybrook was a decent made unit
