Turning on the furance also turned on the roof AC

When I turned on the furnace in the camper for the first time last week, it also turned on the roof AC. The roof AC was not blowing cold air, it was more like circulating the air. Is this normal? I turned off the furnace and used electric heater as I was not sure if the system is working right.

I've got that same control. Put it so the light is on fan. Cycle until fan is on "auto". Now move the light to furnace. The roof a/c should not come on, but the furnace will.

I have the same thermostat. This is exactly right. Auto will show as "au" on the readout.
  • I have the wireless remote , if you have it set for air dry both heat and air come on. It sure dry's the condensation on the windows in the morning

That makes sense. I will try that next time. Thanks.

  • I don't think I can turn the AC fan off when I want the heat. Below is a picture of my control, but mine is white.

  • Same thing for me ! I went back to C.W. , madder then a wet hen . Tech came out pushed a button , all worked fine . It is it some setting in thermostat , driver error .
  • FAN setting to AUTO..then it works with the A/C Compressor--On/Off as A/C cycles

FAN setting in HI or LO it will continuously run when A/C compressor shuts off (when COOL is selected)

Fan setting in Hi or LO it will come in when furnace runs (When HEAT is selected)
  • Make sure the fan setting on the thermostat is set on Auto. You will find it on low or high if it is coming on with the furnace.
  • Same thing happened to me this year. Make sure the fan is set to off. Worked for me.
  • This is some brilliant engineer that never saw a RV idea. Read the instructions for the thermostat. The brilliant idea is to turn on the fan to better circulate warm air from the furnace. There is an option to disable it.
