White Sands Missile Range periodically has missile firings over US 70 and/or US 380. During the firings the road or roads will be temporarily closed. Please call 575-678-1178 for daily information on possible closure dates and times for firings.

I love that road. I want to get back to that area!

Stop in Lincoln and see where Billy the Kid was locked up. The original jail is still there. And so is the bullet hole where he shot the deputy.

A town right down the road is where Smokey Bear is buried.

We've had no issues using either of those roads towing our 33' TT, although you do go through some forest and mountainous areas we didn't run into anything to severe. Don't have any suggestions for overnighting near Roswell but we use RvParky app/website that shows every option for RV parking (paid or free) in the region you are traveling.
