- webslaveExplorerNot sure about your '97 T&C, but, I had a '96 Grand Caravan...couldn't tow it 4 down. To the best of my knowledge, none of the MOPAR minivans are towable 4 down. If you attempt it, be prepared to purchase a new transmission at your destination. In my '96 Caravan, Dodge recommended not to even use a dolly...don't know why if the front wheels were off the ground, the rears are "free wheeling", but, that was the manuals stand on it. The one time I had to have it towed, they asked me what type of vehicle it was and when I told them, they sent a roll-off truck as opposed to one of their tow trucks. AWD models were available at that time and maybe they just had a "one size fits all manual"... If you want to take it as a towed, you'll probably need a trailer to get the 4 wheels off the ground if you are going any distance.
- sch911ExplorerYes it can with a lube pump installed. This is a double post there are also replies on the same post int he Dighny forum.....
- dodge_guyExplorer IIYep, it needs a lube pump installed so it can lube the bearings that would normally get lubed from the actual transmission pump. If it is just front wheel drive it can be towed on a dolly. That may be what i do when we get a motorhome.
