- cbshoestringExplorer IITHIS is what I installed. Very happy with it. Great reviews, easy to install for the average DIYer. A bit pricey, but I thought the protection was worth it. Protects for low/high voltage, as well as loose ground, reverse polarity, etc...

X2 - Sillybugs2ExplorerWhen you say easy for a diy is it really easy. Dh knows some elctrical stuff but not much in a trailer. To what is it installed in the trailer? This looks good and easy to use once installed.
- STBRetiredExplorerThe plug in unit that Bamcote posted the link to is the easiest one to install. I have the 50A version of the one cbshoestring linked tpo. the only difficult part of installing it was sourcing the SOOW cable to run between the surge protector and the transfer switch in my coach.

The "other" brand is made offshore and is a throw-away if it fails. - old_guyExplorerget one that resets if the power does hit you with a surge. other wise you can either throw it away or send it in for the factory to reset it for you.
- MarkTwainExplorerIf my Lance trailer has a 30 amps cord for power, can I use a 50 amp surge protector without any problems or do I need to have 30/50 amp surge protector so I can use 30 or 50 amp, which ever is available at the particular park I am at???
