My trailer lights are malfunctioning. When my head lights are on the trailer lights are very dim. When I hit the breaks the rear lights on the trailer go off. When I turn on the left blinker the right lights blink. When I turn on the right blinker the left lights blink. I am not good at troubleshooting electrical issues. Help!

I will second that and add to it.

One of the things that concerns me is the size of the wire used for the ground, I feel it may be a tad "Anemic" as it were.

but check the grounds both on the motor home (That is where MY rig had a problem) and on the towed ends of the hookup.

In my case they "converted" the flat 4 my MH came with to a 6 pin as part of the Remco LP-1 Lube pump install on my towed.

The conversion used a connector similar to a "Scotch Lock" which slices through the insulation and knife edges to the wire.. Though it can handle the current for stop/tail/turn lights, it can not handle all of them together.. So I bypassed it by soldering on some more ground and tying it to a good frame bolt nearby.

One SOLID hookup.

My problme was feedback killing my cruse control and left turn signal it was that bad.. Works great now.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

You can get one of these,

http://www.amazon.com/Tekonsha-6562-Trailer-Emulator-Display/dp/B004BCA9B8

but always check your ground first when having DC problemsโ€ฆ it sounds like you might have two problemsโ€ฆ a bad ground and some miss-wiringโ€ฆ

you should look here maybeโ€ฆ

sounds like a bad ground, try running a separate ground from coach to trailer, make sure that the new ground is to bare metal on both rigs.........
