I did that also on my 99. The drone while towing drove me bonkers. On second thought maybe that was because the cat took a hike with the original muffler. :h

Fact is there is not a muffler on 13 and newer RAM's.

On my older 24V cummins there is a benefit, but I'd have to spend $15K in other upgrades to get the power levels of your 2015 D/A. What were you planning on towing, the shuttle? :) I'd leave it alone, the truck is already awesome.

Save your old exh.system,I think by federal law you would need it at trade in or resale.I have a 2013 Ram 370hp. how can you use any more power? Going over mountians I eather run out of road,or catch traffic

The Duramax engine is a killer in that truck. The first generation Duramax yes, but I don't think I would mess with a 2015 that uses DEF. Remember, the Allison is only rated to a certain HP and torque. You could destroy both engine and trans. Keep in mind it takes a few miles for a diesel engine to run at it's optimum.

Go to the *brand/model* specific forums for whatever you want to put the after-market exhaust system on - whether that's gas or diesel vehicles - trucks or MHs.

See what the owner's claims to fame (or gains) are.

I just added a Dynomax DPF-back exhaust to my 2013 Ford F350 diesel. This is a 5 inch system replacing a 3 1/2 inch system. There is no noise increase because all the exhaust muffling is done by the turbo and the DPF. There is not even a muffler in the OEM exhaust system downstream of the DPF - just a really small resonator. There were also no sensors of any kind in the removed exhaust. I assume the makeup of the stock system and the results would be the same for a Chevy.

I have no idea about HP gains on a DPF engine. I can't believe you will gain much. I do like the looks of the exhaust and the tip (all stainless) and I'll see what it does for the MPG after I start towing again in a couple months (I fulltime). There appears to be no change to my around town mileage or highway non-towing mileage (already very good IMHO). I figure the increased diameter of the pipe should move the exhaust along much better after it exits the DPF, especially while towing, and ESPECIALLY while towing in the mountains. And I will not be upset if the exhaust at highway RPMs sounds a little better. But I want to emphasize that at idle and low speeds around town, I do not detect any increased noise levels.

So far (maybe 2,000 miles) I can find no negatives associated with this replacement system.

I would be very leery about messing with the computers, DPF, etc on these new diesels. Everything is tied together and talks to the engine computer. You already have all the HP you need from the stock motor - These new engines are towing monsters. I would certainly not do anything that would jeopardize the manufacturer's warranty unless you have deep pockets.
