air bag issues, NHTSA.gov has a list

evidently there have been air bag issues in older vehicles. list at the nhtsa site.

  • Here is a link to a NHTSA page that contains a list of the make and models involved in the recall.

    As of now, I believe this a regional recall. As far as the US, the recall is limited to Florida and, perhaps along the Gulf coast.

    As "unlock" would have it, the vin number look-up page is not working this morning.

  • Lots of 2001 and 2002 models.

    I wonder why it took a full 12 years for this to come to light?

    How many that old are still on the road"?
  • My daughter is still driving a 2000 Honda. It is in better shape than many cars I see that are only 4 years old. But she takes care of it and does all of the preventative maintenance on it.
  • We're still using our 2002 Toyota RAV4 (not on the recall list) as a second car. My total repair costs to date are about $300, and I expect it still has a few more good years in it.
  • You know you question things buying used and just comply if new. You just can't win in this day and time. Pure Bullshi $$. And this Isn't just for auto's.
