Air pressure question

The tires on my 5'er calls for 80 psi. Does that mean it is safe to inflate all the way to 80lbs, knowing that when I get on the highway and the tires heat up, the pressure will increase above 80 lbs. Or, do I need to maybe inflate to only 75 lbs to allow some expansion once things heat up.
  • Don't allow for expansion, fill to 80 psi if you want max carrying ability. Also don't let air out either. Check them in the morning while all is cool. Adjust as necessary.
  • Tires specs for XX psi are designed to handlebar ncreases in temps and pressures while on the road.

The "80 psi" number is for a cold tire before getting on the road.
  • YES.........
80# when COLD (before sun heats up tires or you have driven on them)

    +1

Same as for the truck inflating to correct pressure.
