No generation has a lock on courteous people or discourteous people.
I agree. It's a bit off-topic, but a few months ago, I witnessed 4 men in their late teens walk into the McDonald's where Ed and I, and another man and his elementary-age son, were eating. Three of the 4 guys were teasing #4 about something, and as the situation excalated, #4 got VERY angry and things were loudly said and laced with expletives. Finally, the dad stood up and said in a firm-but-fatherly voice "Hey guys - there are children and ladies here. Please watch your language"
The 4 guys calmed down - but as they picked up their to-go orders, every one of them walked past the father, and sincerely apologized to him and shook his hand. It warmed my heart to know that there are still parents raising their kids to have manners.
