It's been my experience that parks with 'age rules' far more often enforce them over the phone than they do in person. In fact I've never had an issue in person.
A couple years ago though a friend and I were heading to the same place and he phoned a particular c/g, they said "no, sorry" when he called. My rig is 2 years older than his. I was already checked in. He drove over anyway and never mentioned calling ahead, low and behold, the very same "Doris" that said "no, sorry" 2 hours earlier checked him in, no questions asked.
I suspect the folks that can't afford $5 in gas to show up in case they're turned away are the ones that aren't allowed in, not the rest of us.
