My favorite 'Luxury Resort' is in Las Vegas ...
I suppose there is a place for everyone, but not for me! If I have a campsite that has an electric cord and I can reach it without punching holes in the side of my camper by low hanging tree branches, I'm good. I could never enjoy such a place as this.
Funny and true story: We tried selling our house in Carmel, Indiana. After the For Sale By Owner failed, we started searching out realtors. We "interviewed" realtors before settling on one. But one we met with basically told us, our house was not prestigious enough for him to even list it. If we didn't make "X,Y,Z" changes he wouldn't even take us as a client. When searching his web site, his clientele had million dollar houses, and he only successfully closed the deal on 2 or 3 a year. We went with a down-home, middle average, no frills common ordinary realtor.... that did finally get the house sold.
Point made? There's a place for everyone!
You are right, there is a place for everyone and we've been there! We've stayed at KOA's that are pretty rustic. We like everything, that's what makes life fun!
And, I do love the upscale resorts! In Indio, CA, there is the Motorcoach Resort that has a fantastic restaurant with a full glass wall of windows looking at a beautiful mountain backdrop. It's not cheap at nearly $200 a night but a fun splurge. We actually know one of the bartenders and she's fantastic (a good friend).
In a 'destination' place, like I mentioned (Las Vegas), I enjoy all of the amenities, Pool, exercise room, etc. We also like the Mom and Pop RV parks along the way.
We meet so many nice people.
