anyone use an adventurer folding bicycle?

WE got a pair of them last year and really like them. Like you said, not for serious riding, but they are a lot of fun. Have people ask us about them sometimes. I got the bags with then, and keep them in the back seat of our crew cab. I fold the bottom seat up and they fit fine. I did come up with a way to secure the bag to the seat back headrest, so if I stop fast the bikes stay put. We like them in the truck, as it keeps them out of the weather. Also if we are off exploring somewhere, and there is a friendly bike trail, we can make use of the bikes. I found out that to get them in the bag, I use a small bungee chord to secure the folded left peddle to the back of the bike, and use a strap to hold the bike in the folded position. Makes them easier to handle that way.
Last summer we had them when we went to Yosemite. When we visited the main area in the valley, instead of taking the shuttle or trying to drive the truck, we toured the area on bikes. I think we racked up over 7 miles touring the area.:)

We actually got the CW 6 speed bikes used on Craig's list, and they came with the CW bags. I did find out one thing about the bags. The bikes are easier to carry if you open the zipper and grab the frame behind the seat. If you use the bag handle, it is so high up by the time the bikes clear the ground, and hard on your arms as you have to hold them in a bent up position. Also bike come with fenders, so if you go through a puddle, you do not get wet;)

Thanks Dr Quick, Did you get the bags at CW also? Are you using the 6 speed or single speed?

I have the 6 speed bikes and find them useful for moderate use. I have full size hybrids for bike trails. The quality is better than the average mart stores. Beware of the 12 speed bikes, they have 22" tires that are nearly impossible to find.
I have the CW bags as well, they are actually too large but that is better than too small. I set the folded bike on a furniture blanket and then lower the wrapped bike into the bag.

Hybrids don't fold so good.

We used Dahon folding bikes for years. They have a three speed version that should be just right for you.

We have a pair and what I find wrong with them is folding them is a hassle and keeping them folded while trying to put them in the bags is also a hassle. Then when you try to lift them in the bags by the bag handles unless you are 7 feet tall you will be doing a lot of straining.....

HI Bob Vaughn, See my additional information on how to handle bikes in the bag. Also get some "Camping straps" from Wally World to wrap around seat post and handle bars when they are down to hold bike folded. Straps have a clip, and you just clip them and pull end to tighten strap.

They weigh less as well which might be useful if you've any doctor order weight lifting restrictions.

I do like the CW universal bike bags though. Works well for both my Tern and Novara with a few simple sewing mods.

I don't find that to be a big problem. I wrap a bungee around to hold the folded bike together. I place the folded bike in the center of the smallest Harbor Freight furniture blanket and pick up the whole thing by the four corners. The blanket protects the bikes, the bag and items in contact with the bag. Lifting the bag by the handles would not allow a very high lift, you might have to grab it by the sides.
