Ah ... another believer! Thank-you!
Mr. Clean works great! Make it wet but not dripping. Simply wipe (do not scrub). Black and bugs dissolve. You may want to wipe it twice. While the spot on the awning is still wet, simply wipe with a dry towel and move to another section.
Yes, it's a little work, you need to use a ladder, but the results are amazing. And Mr. Clean leaves a chemical on the awning that retards black from coming back for a long-long time. It does not keep bugs from getting rolled up, but a quick touch up with Mr. Clean on the bug goo that mysteriously appears, just comes right off. - IslandmanExplorerWe cleaned the awning on our PW Excel with the cleaner sold by Camping World. Worked fine, jsut used a long handled carwash brush to scrub the top and bottom sides and then rinsed it off. Let it dry before rolling back up.
- PawPaw_n_GramExplorerHad to hand scrub my awning on my previous TT about once a year.
One thing full-timing allows me to do is roll the awings (both of them) out and get them completely dry after a rain or if they get wet on the road.
Keeping the awning from being rolled up wet for days is the best cleaning tip. Prevention beats a cure. - therinkExplorerMix 10 percent bleach with hot water solution into a garden sprayer with about 1/2 cup dish soap. Spray on entire underside of awning until saturated. Close up awning and let it sit for about 20 min. Open up awning and spray off. Will look brand new. Maybe some minor scrubbing needed.
By rolling up awning, it cleans both sides of fabric.
Make sure you rinse real well and wear an old shirt. - docnascarExplorerTilex mold and mildew remover worked for me. Were eye protection and a mask when spraying it on the awning from underneath. Its very strong and the mists floats everywhere. Roll it up and, let it sit for 15min, scrub, and Rinse very good.

Oh my that was the problem..... I had more than the " a beer " had several (6) and forgot to roll it back out....;) - wildtoadExplorer IITilex (aka pre-packed bleach) or the mixture of water, bleach, dish washing liquid mentioned above are good. Wear old clothes, spray on, roll up, wait, hose off. Then directly address the spots that are left.
BTW these same procedures work well for a rubber roof.(except the roll up part!)
