Best RV Cover???

our adco designer series is going on year number 4, and likely will give us another year. But we don't get much wind. I'm happy with it. It did develop a few holes in the roof section this past winter, but I think they are from birds rather than rubbing against anything.

However, since we got the adco, several companies have come out with what I think might be better covers. One uses ripstop nylon rather than the non woven polyester that adco and many others use. That's what I'll seriously look at next time.

This is my second Adco cover, the Designer series. It is undoubtedly the worst of the two. The previous was gray and lasted about 3 seasons. This Designer tears just looking at it. I just went to Target and picked up some fabric glue because the patches to cover the holes were falling off after 2 weeks. The front and rear cross straps have decayed and broken off. I had cut all the straps off my old cover and I find myself jury rigging them onto the new cover. This is after 1 partial summer in Arizona. I had hoped after $ 360.00 it would lat at least 1 year but it doesn't look like it. I will have to look into the Calmark.

Get one made out of Sunbrella and avoid dark colors and the red end of the spectrum. Yellow will last longer than green and green longer than brown.

We have a cover that is 8 year old made from green Sunbrella and it is still in good shape and sheds rainwater and it has been in full sun during that time.

Let me add that the Adco cover that we have is some what fire retardant. I went out and plugged into shore power one morning, came home that night and found a burn hole in the side of the cover. I didnt realize that the furnace wasnt shut off after the last trip, only down all the way. The furnace had came on at some point and burned a hole in the cover, the exact size of the furnace vent. Im so lucky it stopped right there and didnt burn the whole thing down.

Thanks for the input everyone. Probably go with the Adco. Calmark's look real nice, but a bit pricy. Need one for a year or two until I get a carport type addition to properly cover the Lexi. Just (today) had a 30' x 14' addition added to my driveway to get the Lexi off the grass. Car (motorhome) port will come next.

We have an Adco Designer series also. On its third and last year. Web straps are starting to break and has a rip on one corner. For the money Ill get another one next year.

My first cover was a "Classic Cover" I got from JC Whitney for about half the price of the Adco. It ripped at corners and fixturs and only lasted two winters. I got the ADCO Tyvek from Camping World and this winter will be my 7th winter with it. Starting to show it's age now but held up extremely well and worth the extra I paid.

ADCO gets my vote.

I've only owned the ADCO cover CW sells. It's the brown/tan one with the tyvek (white) top. They call it the "Designer" series. Here's a link.

As it is the only one I've owned, going on three years in the AZ sun, I can't comment on whether it is better or worse than other brands. I will say, however, that the quality is not the best. It was shipped with some buckles missing and one zipper no longer works. It has kept the RV clean and protected from the sun and I would buy another.

But, the one I bought is sized for an RV 23' to 26'. Mine is 24' so I have 2 feet of very heavy material that is gathered up at one end. It doesn't look as neat and tidy at the nice pictures you see on the web site. It's actually pretty frumpy.

Maybe next time I'll but the next smaller one and see if I can get it to fit. I'll return it if not.
