Brakemaster by Roadmaster

Looking for any reviews from people that have either used this, or moved away from it. I like the idea of this device, I like that it will use direct braking from my motorhome. I feel I can install it per the instructions, but I would really like some feed back on it first. One of my main questions would be what does it do to the existing warrenty. I have a 2015 Four Winds Super C on a F550 it has years of warrenty left. I just bought it at the end of this last year.

We've had the system on 2 different motorhomes. I installed the first system on our 2001 Winnebago Adventurer and 2004 Jeep Wrangler. We used it to tow the wrangler about 85,000 miles (the motorhome had over 100,00 miles on the odometer) before we traded the motorhome in for our current 2013 Adventurer.

We left the motorhome part of the system with that motorhome and purchased another for the 2013. We have another 25,000 miles towing the Jeep with the new motorhome. Both systems worked flawlessly for over 15 years.

We chose it because of the minimum amount of Jeep hardware to install, remove, and store. The TJ doesn't have much extra space so only having to install and remove a single air cylinder makes things easy. Also we wanted a system that was independent of the Jeep electrical system.

Personally I can't believe there's a more reliable proportional braking system on the market. However the initial install will take a day or more if you want a factory look. I ran all the wiring and tubing inside existing wire looms. Even the wiring for the LED on the dash runs through the factory harnesses and plugs. In addition the compressor and storage tank will take some room from a storage cabinet. In our case I was willing to spend the time and give up the space to install a quality system.

I have had the system since 2003. It's been on three gas motor-homes and two toads. I did the installations myself. The reason I have stayed with the system is on a rig without air brakes you get an compressor that gives air at 130 lbs. I have had to replace the proportioning valve in 2015.That is the only problem I have had with the system. You also get lots of free beer in campgrounds when people find out how easy it is to get there bike tires filled. It should not change you warranty you add a tee to the front brake line . You would want to check with Ford to be sure.

I have used it for 6 years now on 2 different toads.
I have had no problems with it.

But if wanting a new brake system today. I would probably go with one of the permanent systems like the Invisible or SMI.

Not have to put in and take out the Brakemaster air cylinder for every use.
