- wanderingbobExplorer IIWhy a tag if it is not being used on the highway ? Because in most states if it is not real property it is personal property and must be tagged . If it is considered real property then the land owner is responsible for paying ad valorum taxes on the "improvements ".Many counties in Fl you will pay taxes on add ons such as carports or storage rooms .
- RGar974417Explorer10 years ago,I bought a trailer in New Jersey. They gave me a 30 day temp tag and then I registered it in Pa.

OK folks thanks. I could only find info on title and registration in FL that stated that I needed a FL drivers license to start with. Hence my confusion. Will rely on the dealer to get it right.
No Fl. license needed. I own a modular home in Fl. and my main dwelling is in Ga. I have a Ga. License and Ga. tags on my vehicles. Use my Ga. address for all correspondence. - Chuck_GoodwinExplorerOK folks thanks. I could only find info on title and registration in FL that stated that I needed a FL drivers license to start with. - lbrjetExplorerYes, FL title, registration and insurance. Your transaction has nothing to do with PA.
- NanciLExplorer IIYou can get the title and plate in Florida
We just went through it.
We bought from a dealer in Florida. They did it all for us and registered it and got the Florida plate and title for us

If it never leaves the resort property, do you even need it registered? That may be a question for the resort owners and/or a tax accountant.
It needs to be registered. Even mobile homes are registered and the state has a small army of people looking for violators.
And if you dont register it and dont get caught, when you try to sell it all the back taxes will be due with a penalty. - DrewEExplorer IIIf it never leaves the resort property, do you even need it registered? That may be a question for the resort owners and/or a tax accountant.

I should have mentioned that the trailer will never leave FL. It's a park model and will stay at our resort all year, on a campsite while we are there in the winter and in storage when we are away. So from the last post, it should be titled in FL but can I do that as a PA resident?
Since it will remain in Fl. it will be registered in Fl. Does not matter that you are a resident of Pa. Dealer can handle all paperwork. - Chuck_GoodwinExplorerI should have mentioned that the trailer will never leave FL.
