Canopy for Rain, not just Shade?

We have a 10x10 Ez-Up from Sams Club. Runs $200, comes with 4 sides, and is for the money about the best without spending a ton more... It is heavy, but very study. A small amount of water may collect as the fabric ages and stretches as mentioned. We had one for over 10yrs before finally ripping a little. Bough a new one last year or two years ago. Working great again!!!

Any of the cheaper, lighter ones that have an "arch" style frame holding the fabric up don't stand up to heavy winds or rain very well it seems. Ours has a truss style frame from leg to leg, with a center pole that holds the fabric up. I will see if I can find it online. Possible the Eclipse or Explorer model.... Something like that....

I too thought OP was looking for a shelter for his camp table, not an awning on the rig.

Your problem could be a matter of position or it could be the actual material the shade is made of. More info needed:).

I checked the Camping World website for their selection of canopies and find the same. Lots of hype about UV protection, easy to set up, etc but none clearly state they are intended as a rain cover as well.

Are there camping collapsible canopies that can function as rain cover?

And YES they make a plethora canopies that protect you from the rain. They even have one that is rectangular so it fits over your picnic table.

Any of the EZ-up 'type' canopy's should do the job. The wire cross hatch frame is what keeps it up and water running off.

Gandermountain, Ozark Trail, Dicks Sporting, quick shade, quest, ez-up, etc. There's a whole bunch of cheaper ones that work just as good. Big box sporting stores have them all on sale now.

I have a cheap knock off one the Ozark Trail I put up over the dog pens in the driveway while I am remodeling my Florida home and it has been up for over a year thru the huge downpours, and pretty high winds they have down here during the rainy season. It is still standing and dogs are dry!

Our 10 x 10 QUEST canopy was very sturdy and we stayed dry under it. It made it through a sudden wind storm that took our TT awning up over the roof. We used the canopy for about 7 years, but sold it with our teardrop recently, and it still was in great shape. Many people collapse the frame with the canopy still attached, which makes setup easier, but it destroys the fabric.

I had an EZ Up. Worked great in the rain. Never pooled water or leaked. A huge thunderstorm did it in. Staked down all four corners and woke up to it being 30 yards away and completely destroyed. Only found one stake. Nothing is impervious to nature.

If you go to festivals and craft shows where lots of vendors set-up shop, you'll find most of them use EZ-up canopies. They're not cheap, and they're kinda heavy, but, in my opinion, they are one of the best in the weather. Like any of them, when it gets a little older you may have to put some water-proofing spray on it. That being said, mine is over 10 years old, and the fabric has stretched some and it now collects some water in the corners. My daughter's newer one doesn't do that. Staked-down and lowered, ours has been through some horrific storms, and survived. Ours came with zip-up sides, which allows us to use it in colder weather, with a heater inside. I bought one of the cheaper ones, set it up, and within 15 minutes of setting it up, a storm came up and blew it apart. 1/2 hour later, I was back at the store getting my money refunded.
