Chevy Spark manual tranny

Thinking of getting a chevy Spark to tow behind Mercedes Sprint 3500 Pleasure way. We know that we need a manual tranny but have been told that we need to start it every fuel stop, etc. Does anyone have any experience towing a Spark?
  • The 55 MPH. Limit is just put there by he Lawyers. That being said it is the normal Towing Speed Maximum in many parts of North America so really isn't a big deal!
  • We just bought the 2013 Chevy Spark for a towing car. It's a manual tranny. The head technician read off of the manual on-line and said it's warrantied to pull at 70 mph. Have to turn the key to accessory for the power steering and should run every 2-3 hrs. for 5-10 min to recharge the battery. Kind of depends on how much straight down the road driving you do & how much turning. Haven't gotten it hooked up yet but will let everyone how it does when we start using it.
  • According to the Motorhome Magazine 2013 Dinghy guide, the Spark manual trans is limited to 55 MPH, with no other restrictions or requirements. So you don't have to start it fuel stops, pull fuses, or any other thing. But the 55 MPH limit is a bummer.

The best thing is to search the internet for Spark owners manual, download it, and look at the section about towing or recreational towing.
