Cleaning Water Jugs

I usually use Hydrogen Peroxide. It's not caustic or harmful like bleach and still disinfects. Pour a bit in the bottles, fill with water, let sit for a bit and dump and let air dry.

Basically the same way you sanitize the water tank in your camper. For a six gallon jug you need very little bleach or peroxide. An ounce of bleach would be plenty. Fill the jug, let it sit for a couple hours, drain/fill twice.

I hope your handle Surgetech deals with electrical surges and not surgery , if you don’t know how to disinfect a water jug….

Put a few granules of hot tub sodium dichlor in the jugs. Don't have to deal with trying to get rid of the bleach taste.

I'm a bleach user...quarter cup per 15 gallons.

To each his own but there's this warning on Sodium Dichlor; Harmful if swallowed. Ingestion may cause immediate pain and severe burns of the mucous membranes.

1 oz of bleach to 6 gallons water. Leave sit for a hour, then flush.

Just what I have done for years.

I'm sorry... I've drunk out of too many garden hoses. When I finish using my extra water containers, I rinse them and let them dry out and then recap them. When I want to use them again, I just rinse them out several times and use them. Been doing that for a couple decades. Not dead yet!
