Closing of Threads
I realize that some of the folks that read these agree with the moderator on her policy of closing these threads the very moment someone posts something negative about a position.
I would like you all to consider this:
Closing the thread plays directly into the hands of the poster who is being negative. This is very likely exactly what he wants. So he/she can get a thread closed almost at will. This is not a good policy.
Closing the thread also hurts those of us who would like to hear from those who have worked at a specific place to get a better idea of the reality of the workplace rather than the HR hype from the company. This can be very valuable. We now do not have even the opportunity for such feedback either negative or positive.
Closing the thread for reasons that are not specified in the user agreement/rules should be done extremely rarely if at all.
Finally closing these threads runs counter to what RV.net stated goal is. The only people hurt by the closing are those that want real information and different perspectives on the jobs offered...It does NOT hurt the poster who jumps on with a negative comment...it only encourages them.
Additionally as I have stated before. The Employers really dont care what is said on this thread about their jobs and few would rarely have time to come back and read it. And if they really are disturbed by a comment or allegation it is always open for them to post a comment refuting the misinformation and clarifying.
In the interests of fairness to the majority of RV.NET users and the employers please re-review this closure policy. As it is now it is a zero sum game. No one benefits.
Thank You
