Camping world had the repair kit on sale so picked one up and
fixed one of the small shade that had frayed....was an easy fix but just had to take time and follow the instructions....the shade worked better than when it was new.....wow.....anyone with shades should carry the kit in the trailer....

What I referred to as grommets look like "open" rivets as it were, and the mfgr. Installed them upside down. I bought all mine from Fixmyblinds.com

so what do you suggest when your dog gets into the shade and ruins it. I have the small one by the door and the price of a new shade is almost out of the question.

I ordered enough Cord from the Manufacturer to restring All My Windows! The Older Ones do not use Grommets ,they have Open Rivets which are subject to rusting!

I drilled them Out on One shade, PITA , and inserted the grommets !

On the second I just cleaned the small amount of rust and wiped the Rivets with silicone!

I have only done two so far ..Easy Repair ! I will get to the others when they break!

The replacement Cord is thinner than the original.

X2!
Once I found these kits life was sooo much simpler with those shades AND a whole lot cheaper than paying to have them repaired while on the road!!:C

We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned,
so as to have the life that is waiting for us.

i keep a roll of much heavier than OEM string, grommets, shade threader on board and have done all but one. Make sure you install the grommets in the CORRECT direction, not necessarily the way they came out. That's the prime cause of failure: the factory screwed up
