Dual waste tank hookup

prowler17545

My new trailer has separate drain pipes a distance apart ( one gray-one black ) unlike my old camper. Any advice on what is needed to make the two hoses connect into one so it goes into the underground dump tank ? Some type of elbow device? It's in a seasonal campsite. The dealer did not cover it in the demo.

Thanks in advance !

I have 3 tanks, Black, Gray, Wash,, And that is what I use if I hook 'em up with 3" hose.

Another trick is to replace the cap on the gray tank with one of these

Camping world Link. Termination cap with hose connector

Then you need one dual female hose connector (Hardware stores have these) and drill out the hose fitting on your elbow (And cap it if not using second hose) and a 3/4 inch GRAY hose for the gray water tank.. I use one of these on the wash water tank, the hose forms a natural "Trap" so I can leave the valve open.

NOTE: not really the recommended for a 2 tank system, but works well on a 3 tank.

If I'm using the macerator due to run length or other issues.... I have a dual inlet sewer adapter,, one is "Checked" and it gets the gray hose (Check valve in the line) If I'd have been thinking I'd likely have ran seperate pipes down but.. This way I get a really neat handle out of it too.
Home was where I park it. but alas the.

My class C has the same (kitchen sink grey up front-and black and shower tanks in back), I have the Sewer Solution which I use when hooked up for a week or so. I put some ball valves on both lines at the "Y" (to prevent black from going towards kitchen sink), which I close/open depending on chore at hand. I keep the stinky slinky for all stays less than a week. Works great for us!

Hard plumbing the two together is the way to go, but short of that - I did the same as the folks above and used a wye:

Howdy!

My new Toy Hauler also has two 3" dumps. One is for black & gray water the other gray water only. As stated I use a sewer cap with a garden hose connection and attach a garden hose to it to drain it.

Could they be hard plumbed together?
When I went TT shopping with a buddy we saw several like you describe. A couple of them could have been replumbed so they are connected, like mine was from the factory.

Not that uncommon. Get the Y pipe problem solved.

Go to an RV Place. They sell a cap that will reduce the Grey tank down to Garden Hose size. You install this on the GREY TANK! Then route a Garden Hose to a reciever at the Dump Location which accepts a Hose end. Note: You will have to make this A FEMALE TO FEMALE hose cose. The adapter to teh sewer is pretty common and I wold be suprised if any dealer didnt hav it. Will require drilling out hole for water to drain into the adapter. I have the sewer hookup but dont use it.
Hope this helps

I had a 1988 Suncrest Class A that had two drain lines. we lived in it during a Montana winter, using a set up similar to the one pictured above. It worked fine, no troubles.

What's 'normal' :B:B

Lots of rvs have two separate drain lines.

Waste tank forward of axles and waste tank rearward of axles will use separate drain lines.
That would be 'normal' for that set-up

Made this up with Rhino parts. Shortened the hose at the drain line to keep the "y" where I wanted it.
