Recently we were in Tucson AZ and had a near end-of-life experience when we were stopped at a red light and two people, one turning left and the other running a long yellow (orange – almost red) light. Yes, We both have ICE or 1CE on our phones, but that does not tell first responders where our rig is or that there are pets in need of care.

ICE contact in your phone is no help if your phone is locked. And it should be.

Put the ICE info on the lock screen. Google it for your type of phone if you don't know how.

My wife and I carry a business card size document in our wallets. It contains: Medical info including prescriptions and any issues we have, medical insurance info, auto insurance info, people to call in an emergency, vehicle information including make, model, license plate number and VIN # as well as the make, model and serial number of weapons we own. We laminate the cards.

ICE and a medical bracelet are good. However, you really need your RV information. Say your wife is out shopping and is in an accident. No one would know where you are. Or if you were both together - no one would know where the RV was.

Putting all the information in your glove box and on your person is ideal.

As full-timers everytime we moved we made the change on our form. We also gave our kids a 'loose' itinerary of our travels for the season so the police could hopefully track us down. Of course, there were always changes but the general direction stayed the same. This also gave our kids peach of mind that we could be found.

I use the app Where Am I to notify family where we are parked. It transmits the address if available and the GPS coordinates. I can send it via text or email and can add a message. As fulltimers, we were always worried about the same thing. We also have ICE contacts on our smart phone.
