External Gas Hookup to Firepit

Looking into the feasibility of hooking up my Firepit to the external gas hookup on my trailer. It looks to me that I could do such if I did not use the gas bottle adapter hose supplied with the firepit and came up with a direct connect hose from the trailers quick connect to the firepits screw on connection. Do you see any issues with this? sure would be nice to not lug around an extra 20 lb tank.

My recommendation is a Extend-a-flow,, This goes between the tank and regulator

It supplies high pressure Propane to a "Quick Disconnect" (looks like the top of a throw away canister).

It comes with a 10' hose, and you can get more 10' hoses to use with it.

That said... not sure I'd want a fire pit, even a propane one, that close to the vehicle I call HOME.
  • Should work just fine. Did that with a gas grill. Only problem I had was that there are two quick-connect fitting sizes that look to the eye identical, but will not connect between the sizes. My local RV dealer had 'em both, one he described as "the old fitting style" and the other was "the new fitting style." Turned out that my 2007 TT had the "old" style. It was cheaper to buy an old style male than to buy a new style male AND female to replace the connector on the trailer.
