Looking at Good Sam Travel Assist and would like some feedback from those who have used it. It looks good but you never know how good a service like this until you go to use it. Any feedback from those who have had the need to make a claim would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Yes, this type coverage is focused on folks hundreds/ thousands of miles from home on a trip with a return home part of the trip.

For the type of medical issues this type plan is intended to assist with, many to most full-timers would want to go to a location near relatives or friends. One where the months long medical treatment and support from family / friends is available. And most likely in a warm year round location.

The type issues such plans are for will often mean an end to full-timing or long term RV living.

Since this is in the full-time section I have to wonder how much value it would be to a full-timer. One of the big benefits is to transport the person and rig back home. Isn't a full-timer already home?

Never met anyone who had to use Travel Assist. Have met a couple folks who used MedJetAssist to get home. And it took four friends taking turns to get their fifth wheel back from Washington to Texas.

Unfortunately the end result of the medical problem forced the sale of the 5er, and the end of their traveling. They were lucky to have friends spaced out who could tow the rig and absorb the costs. Would have been better to sell it in Washington, but they were hopeful at that time.

Every year we hear of new widows / or newly medical incapable folks selling their rigs cheap in snowbird parks because they cannot get the rig home.

People, he is asking about Travel Assist NOT Roadside Assist.

I have followed a few threads on here the last couple years asking the same thing.
Never seen anyone post that they used it.
I recall one that said they 'almost' had to use it.

Good morning... We used it for a blow out on our RV. They were courteous and responsive. Kept us in the loop and took care of the problem. As always you'll hear good and bad about every company. our experience with them was fine.

It is an included benefit with FMCA membership, or also included in some Coach-Net plans. like most insusances, the goal is to never have to use it! ST
