Finally hit the scales

Have had various truck / trailer combinations, for 15 years, and finally weighed one.

Trailer numbers from manufacturers sticker

UVW 7021 lbs hitch weight 841 lbs (12%)

It's a front kitchen model. Grocery weight would be up front. Fresh tank is behind axles, thus, water weight would counter grocery weight.

Loaded with verything except water and groceries, here are scale numbers.

Truck Alone (08 F250 Crewcab gas 4X4 with Timbren SES on rear)

Front 4240 wheel well height 41 1/4 inches
Rear 3440 wheel well height 43 inches
Total 7680

Axle ratings 5600 front, 6100 rear

Truck and trailer with WDH

Front 4000 wheel well height 41 3/4 inches
Rear 4740 wheel well height 42 1/4 inches
Trailer 7320
Total 16060

Truck and trailer with WD disconnected

Front 3800 wheel well height 41 1/2 inches
Rear 5060 wheel well height 41 1/2 inches
Trailer 7200
Total 16060

With and without WDH, wheel well height doesn't change more than 1/2 inch in front and 3/4 inch in rear.

My calculations:

Trailer and hitch weigh 8330 lbs (16060 - 7680)

Trailer without WD takes 440 lbs from steering wheels, WD puts 200 lbs back. Front axle load restoration about 49%. From what I understand, Ford recommends 50% FALR.

Trailer without WD adds 1620 lbs to rear axle, WD puts 320 back on trailer.

Tongue weight 1300 lbs and hitch redistributes 520 lbs.

Am I calculating correctly?

I am confused. I used a tongue weight scale in the driveway. It showed 1000 lbs tongue weight. While filling fresh (located behind axles) tank, I watched it drop to 800 lbs. Maybe tongue weight scale is wrong?
